The master program "integrated Plant and Animal Areeding” (iPAB) combines plant and animal breeding. The general and subject-related goals of the course of study include, among other things, the acquisition of
The academic programme includes 120 credits (ECTS credits; abbreviated: C) that are awarded as follows:
a) on the subject study 78 C (including 6-week internship),
b) on the area of professionalisation (key competencies) 12 C,
c) on the master thesis (including a colloquium for master thesis) 30 C
The compulsory internship can be completed in various areas of plant and animal breeding (industry, departmental research, consulting) and provides insights into working methods, areas of responsibility and everyday professional life in plant and animal breeding.
The Master's programme requires compulsory attendance with lectures, seminars, exercises, internships, projects and excursions.
Occupational fields
The knowledge imparted in the consecutive master course of study "Integrated Plant and Animal Breeding" should prepare the students for their subject-specific or scientific occupational field. Agricultural scientists with the university degree "Master of Science” in "Integrated Plant and Animal Breeding" can act as managers

Applicants whose native language is not English must have good English language skills. The following certificates and language levels are recognized:
Cambridge English First with at least an A grade, Cambridge English Advanced with at least a C grade, Cambridge English Proficiency with at least “pass”, International English language Test System Academic with at least volume 6, “Test of English as a Foreign Language” internet-based test (TOEFL iBT) with at least 80 points, paper-based test (TOEFL PBT) with at least 550 points, “The Pearson Test of English Academic” (PTE Academic) with at least 60 points, UNIcert with at least level II or another proof according to the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages" (GeR) with at least level B2, Technical assessment or coursework after foreign stays of at least three months or University language courses in an English-speaking country corresponding to the level of the previous listed tests or a minimum of two years of study or work in a country where English is the official language.
