Impressions from Cycling Awareness Day on 5 November 2013

300 visitors attended Cycling Awareness Day



Early November 2013, bike safety check for Cycling Awareness Day in front of the auditorium: attendees were offered advice on buying a helmet and bicycle registration, and they could even have their bicycle inspected by a pro free-of-charge. A visit by Caroline Noeding, the reigning Miss Germany, was one of the featured highlights. As ambassador of the German Traffic Safety Association (DVR), she handed out reflector strips and promoted safety aspects to consider, like proper lighting and wearing highly visible clothing when cycling during the dark months.


Cycling Awareness Day was organised by the Bicycle Safety Network, a joint venture between the University, the City of Göttingen, the Police Force, the German Traffic Watch, the German Cyclist's Association (ADFC) and local bicycle dealers. The German Traffic Safety Association partnered the event.
