Newspapers
The local newspaper is the Göttinger Tageblatt. There are many nation-wide newspapers like the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the Süddeutsche, the Welt, the Frankfurter Rundschau, and the TAZ. All newspapers can also be found online.

The local newspaper "Extra Tip" is distributed free of charge in and around Göttingen and provides information about special sales and local events. The bookstore at the train station has a good selection of foreign language newspapers. You may read newspapers free of charge in the reading room of the University Library (Platz der Göttinger Sieben 1), the reading room of the Studentenwerk (Platz der Göttinger Sieben 4) and in the Göttingen public library (Gotmarstr. 8).

Radio and TV
In Germany radios and TVs must be registered with the GEZ (national agency for TV and radio licenses). Student discounts are possible. Your monthly payment supports public television and radio.

Our student radio "GöHört" is made by students for students and everyone else who is interested in Campus life.

Libraries
Göttingen has a public library with branches in the various parts of the city. There is a yearly membership fee of about Euro. The public library carries a large selection of international novels and books.
