The Faculty of Business and Economics does very well in the current ranking of the Centre for Higher Education Development ("Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung" - CHE) of 2023 and is in the top and middle group with the evaluated fields of Business Administration, Economics and Business Information Systems (bachelor's and Master's programmes). Students in particular are very satisfied with their overall study situation and rate the faculty above average in the respective student surveys: According to the CHE, the ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed university comparison in the German-speaking world, with around 120,000 students surveyed and more than 300 universities and universities of applied sciences ("Fachhochschulen") as well as dual universities and universities of cooperative education ("Berufsakademien") examined. In the ranking for lifetime achievement, which includes all research work over the course of a career, Prof. Dr. Lutz M. Kolbe is in 194th place. Prof. Dr. Holger Strulik, holder of the Chair of Macroeconomics and Development Economics, is the highest ranking economist working in Germany.
