Integration & Diversity at Göttingen University (InDiGU)
Funds have been raised for a two-year period under the DAAD PROFIN programme to promote the integration of foreign students in cooperation with International Student Services, the Career Service of the Central Office of Student Affairs, the Intercultural German Studies Department and the Central Institution for Languages and Key Qualifications, to assist with the implementation of the InDiGU project (Integration & Diversity at Göttingen University).
The International Certificate under the auspices of InDiGU improves the integration of foreign students, encourages the acquisition of intercultural competence, gives recognition to the work and expense invested in integration measures on the part of German and foreign students, and serves as an incentive to become involved in internationally oriented student organisations, to support foreign students, to prepare and evaluate studies abroad and to take an active part in furthering and influencing the integration process.
Another aim pursued by InDiGU is setting up partnerships between foreign students and their German fellow students for mutual support with specific (national) knowledge in their respective subject areas (subject-related partnerships), in writing academic texts (academic writing partnerships) and in job applications, career planning and start-up (career tandems).
