European university network Enlight funds twelve projects with Göttingen University involvement
The European University Network Enlight has funded twelve projects involving the University of Göttingen. The NAI²TURE network (Network for Accessible and Interdisciplinary AI Transformation at Universities through Research and Exchange), coordinated by the University of Göttingen, will receive just under €100,000 in funding. NAI²TURE was selected in the “Enlight Thematic Networks” category. The aim is to promote critical and inclusive AI competence and to conduct interdisciplinary research into the associated educational, ethical and institutional issues. To achieve this, experts from six Enlight universities are developing open, accessible teaching and learning resources, collecting best practice and promoting exchange. Dr Alexander Silbersdorff from the Campus Institute for Data Science is responsible for coordination. Four other projects involving Göttingen University were selected in this funding category.
The University of Göttingen also had success in the “Incubator Grants” category, which supports innovative teaching initiatives. A total of seven projects involving Göttingen University were approved and will each receive up to €30,000 in funding. These projects contribute to developing new teaching formats, enhancing exchange between students and teachers, and promoting international learning experiences.
“Successful participation in the Enlight funding schemes underscores the active role that Göttingen University has in this international university network,” emphasizes Professor Inge Hanewinkel, Vice-President for Equal Opportunities, Diversity and Internationalization. “Such collaborations create space for new ideas and strengthen the international visibility of our University.” Professor Hiltraud Casper-Hehne, Göttingen’s Enlight Academic Lead, highlights the significance of these results: “The successful projects are an important driver for innovation, networking and transfer of scientific knowledge – within the Enlight Network and beyond.” The Enlight Network is an alliance of ten European universities that jointly promote strategies for innovation, sustainable development and social engagement.
