Network of Research Integrity Offices

The heads of Ombuds offices have joined forces in the Network of Research Integrity Offices. Ombuds offices can be found at more and more universities and research institutions in Germany. One of their tasks is to support and relieve ombudspersons working on a voluntary basis in the performance of their duties by advising academic staff on issues of good research practice or related conflicts. In many cases, ombuds offices are also involved in preventative activities, e g. courses on good research practice.

The aim of the network is to exchange information on issues of good research practice, new developments in this area and how to deal with conflicts. The members meet online once a month. Network members are also happy to answer questions from ombudspersons at other organisations.

There are currently 13 institutions with ombuds offices in the network:

Detailed information on the tasks and counselling services of the ombuds offices can be found on the Website of the Ombuds Committee for Research Integrity in Germany
