NEW A-JOURNAL PUBLICATION ON EFFICIENCY MEASUREMENT IN RETAIL

Prof. Maik Hammerschmidt is a co-author of the article "Robust data envelopment analysis with variable budgeted uncertainty," which has been published in the prestigious European Journal of Operational Research. The study is a mutual project with researchers from the Technical University Darmstadt, the University of Hertfordshire and the University of Huddersfield. The article introduces a novel Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method that adequately considers uncertainty (such as disruptions in the business environment) in efficiency measurement to obtain robust efficiency assessments.



The practical applicability of the new method is showcased using a large-scale data set of a leading European retail company.
